The Utilita Kids Cup Regional Final took place at Reading's Select Car Leasing Stadium this week.

EFL Championship National Final 29th May 2022

Sacred Heart Primary School were now representing Luton Town FC and the southern region in the Utilita EFL Kids Cup against a school based in Sheffield who were representing Sheffield United.

The match took place on the hallowed turf at Wembley, a 90,000 seater stadium filling fast with supporters as the Nottingham Forest Vs Huddersfield Town championship final was only moments away.

Sacred Heart were an absolute joy to watch on the day, they showed courage and bravery to get on the ball and not worry about making mistakes but to all grab a special moment from the game. A few minutes in and a wonder strike from Sacred Hearts number 15 flew into the top corner, a calibre of goal fitting for any final. Sacred Heart stuck to their philosophy and moved the ball well pinning back the opposition, early in the second half the trickery of our number 10 forced a foul which resulted in a free kick. An absolute wonder strike flew past defenders and the Sheffield United Keeper into the roof of the net. A nervy few minutes remained and then the referee blew the whistle and Sacred Heart Primary School of Luton, Bedfordshire were crowned National Champions 2022.

In true final tradition the boys and Think Sport Coaching team enjoyed walking the famous Wembley steps to lift the Utilita Kids Championship Cup.
